Introduction

My project’s goal was to create a Swiss army knife synthesiser in the visual programming language Max/MSP with integration in Ableton with Max for Live. I was originally inspired by modern synthesisers such as ‘Serum’, ‘Surge XT’ and ‘Arturia Pigments’. But along the way, I believe my synthesiser has become unique due to my personal decisions as well as limitations within Max. This 3-oscillator synth includes Basic Shapes, Wavetable, Additive and FM synthesis, and effects that can all be used in tandem to create complex and versatile sounds. The synthesiser has a broad target audience and will be free and easily downloadable making it especially accessible for the bedroom producer.
